Cavan worked quickly on my CGT return as it was nearing the 60 day deadline. His replies to my emails were always patient and used everyday language.
As an older person, working with technology is difficult, but Cavan guided me through what was necessary.

Cavan Atkinson helped me with my capital gains tax return on the sale of my first home. He was incredibly patient, but above all really comprehensive. My return had some complexities in that I had lived abroad for periods of time and he ensured he had second opinions on these so that the return was filed correctly. He also worked to a short deadline given changes in circumstances. I would highly recommend him!

From our experience Cavan Aitkinson is a very important person at Butt Miller. He's important because in that industry it's rarer than we would all like to have someone enthusiastic, passionate, exceptionally thoughtful, pleasingly and gently litigious. These are important qualities and Cavan has them in abundance. I couldn't recommend his services more highly. He's made something that had the potential to cause my husband and I a great deal of stress and he's made the resolution and research easy to understand without patronising, he acted efficiently and his knowledge seems to have no end. Fantastic person, a credit to Butt Miller.

I contacted Cavan Atkinson at Butt Miller in regards to potential due tax to be payed on selling my family home. Cavan not only advised on this but helped me claim back paid stamp duty owed to me on our new purchase.
Throughout he was always polite, patient, efficient and helpful resolving both matters quickly along with the help from extended team where necessary.

Thank goodness he stands between me and HMRC as I live overseas and time differences etc make that even more difficult than normal.

From first contact with Sam Carling it was clear that Butt Miller take customer service seriously and have the right person managing the important initial stage. I needed an exploratory conversation to discuss the accountancy support needed and options on approach and Sam quickly arranged a video call with Alison Elliott who took the time to understand my needs and explained how she could help in straightforward language. From there, onboarding as a client was managed by Sam with efficiency and great communication, and a lovely warmth of manner. I’m sure the execution of business support will be just as top notch.

We reached out to Butt Miller regarding a Capital Gain Tax matter and we were advised by Cavan Atkinson. I have spoken to some other Agents before but with none of them i felt the trust that I felt with Cavan. We had a bit tricky situation and Cavan was able to understand the situation straight away and advised us on spot and the whole matter was closed within few days. Cavan is very knowledgeable and friendly person and I highly recommend him!

My wife and I had some capital gains tax to pay on a property sale. I handle most of our tax affairs personally, but it was not straightforward for us to calculate the CGT on this sale and it would not have been a good use of my time for me to learn about the allowances and all the rest of it for a single capital gain on property that I will most likely never do again.
