Problem
AVI-SPL Limited is the UK subsidiary of a global group with the Head Office in the USA. The group operates out of 65 offices and employs over 4,400 people. AVI-SPL is a global technology solutions leader who design, install and support immersive employee and customer experiences. The group provides tailored AV, UC, and experiential technology solutions for international clients and works with a number of partners including HP, Logitech, Q-SYS, Sony and Zoom.
The company was looking for a reliable financial partner to undertake statutory audits in an efficient and thorough way. Previously the directors had been dissatisfied with the time taken to sign off the audit. They also felt that the audit team changed frequently so the accounts team kept being asked the same questions, and sometimes these were irrelevant. The directors were looking for a company to provide friendly but professional advice, who would view them as more than just a job to be done.
Solution
We carefully selected our audit team to choose suitably qualified staff who were experienced working within the AV industry and therefore were aware of the potential issues. Stock was a significant figure on the balance sheet and therefore we attended the year-end stock take when we were also able to catch up with the management to see how the business has been operating over the previous twelve months. We adhered to the client’s timings for both on-site and off-site work. We tend to keep the same core team from year to year to ensure that they understand the business and its unique attributes well. This approach helps us develop strong client relationships, enabling us to provide tailored, relevant recommendations that add value to our service and support clients in enhancing their internal systems.
Our audit was undertaken with a combination of remote working and visiting the client’s premises.
